What to Have Ready

A first call goes faster when you have a few things at hand. None are required, and we can work from whatever you have.

  • The parties and posture

Case caption, jurisdiction, and current stage — pre-suit, discovery, or post-designation.

  • Key dates

Expert designation deadline, discovery cutoff, and trial setting. These determine whether we can take the engagement.

  • Opposing experts

Whether an opposing damages expert has been designated, and whether a report has been served.

  • Available data

Financial statements, payroll or transaction records, production data, or any dataset the damages calculation will rest on. We routinely work with large and irregular datasets, so volume is rarely an obstacle.

Our Austin Office

Our office is at 1601 E Cesar Chavez Street in East Austin, minutes from the Travis County Civil and Family Courts Facility and the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division. Street and lot parking are available. We also meet by video conference and travel for depositions, trial testimony, and client meetings nationwide.

Where We Work

Texas

Travis County and the greater Austin area, Harris County and Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Bexar County and San Antonio, and courts statewide, including the Business Court of Texas.

Federal

The Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and federal courts nationwide.

Other forums

The U.S. International Trade Commission, arbitration panels, and regulatory proceedings.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can you take on a new matter?

It depends on the designation deadline and the scope of the damages analysis. Call 512-293-5246 and we will tell you the same day whether the timeline is workable.

Do you run conflicts checks before a consultation?

Yes. Send the full party list, including parent companies and affiliates, and we will clear conflicts before any substantive discussion of the matter.

Do you work with plaintiff-side and defense-side counsel?

Both. Our work is the same either way: the analysis follows the data and the accepted methodology in the field.

Do you take engagements outside Texas?

Yes. We are based in Austin and serve clients nationwide, including federal courts in every circuit.
